I’m not sure if this kid saw the same exhibits that I saw, but he clearly enjoyed his visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as much as I did.

I went to see “Renaissance and Reformation: German Art in the Age of Dürer and Cranach”.   Pieces in this exhibit were accompanied by explanations of the role of art during the Protestant Reformation.

Lucky me, also on show was an exhibit of the contemporaries Pablo Picasso & Diego Rivera. I was surprised that I actually was more affected by these paintings than by those from the 16th century. I especially enjoyed the inclusion of the ancient art from Europe & Mexico which influenced these two artists.

  1. I saw both exhibitions, MK. They are excellent! By the way, the kid enjoying the yellow spaghetti installation may know that it’s being removed from that area, probably in preparation for the soon to start construction in that area. I hope they place it somewhere else because kids just love that thing… 🙂

    1. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen more than one adult in the yellow spaghetti at any one time, and usually none. All together I think I’ve seen perhaps 5 at most. But kids just scream through that thing! I hope they’ll move it somewhere easily accessible to all the young art appreciators.
Yes, both exhibits were fantastic. I will probably return to see the Reformation art exhibit a 2nd time. Too much good stuff. Glad you saw it too Angela.

    1. Both were so good, but really did enjoy the Picasso/Rivera one the most. It was a privilege to see so many famous paintings. Most of them were marked “don’t photograph” so I could only snap a few.
What an unsurprise that you like the painting with plants in it the best!!!
