  1. What a phenomenal pic, MK! I have never seen a butterfly like this before. It appears the wings are almost ‘textured’! Gorgeous! Cher xo

I saw this butterfly yesterday for the first time on my dog walk, so I returned today with my camera. I got lucky.

    1. That’s what I like about photography, Gigi. If I really slow down & just look, even at a little weed, it’s really quite beautiful.

  6. So pretty – I love the contrast of the underside of its wings with the pretty blue of the top.

    1. Thank you Sarah. I also like that contrast on the wings. So many of us also have two (or more) sides!

    1. Thanks Karen. It’s striking how very different are the wing’s tops versus under-sides. I’m glad for the enjoyment it brings.

    1. Thanks so much Sonia. I was lucky that this one was willing to hold still. There’s another one I’ve been trying to photograph for months, but that kind never seems to land!

      1. I know what you mean. I tried to photograph butterflies too and they are REALLY difficult to “catch” in the right position. And that blue is my favorite kind of blue 🙂
