Weekly Photo Challenge: Descent

Last leg of the zipline tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest canopy in Costa Rica. The target is the tiny orange flag. Glad I did it, but don’t want to ever do it again.

This week, show us your interpretation of descent — experiment with your point of view and angle, or go even deeper with the theme.

  1. I can think of a few things I’ve gladly done that I wouldn’t want to repeat. What an adventure, but I can understand the ‘once is enough’ feeling, too.

    1. Brave? No. Just wanted the adventure and novel experience. Zipline and escargot both are now checked off my bucket list, never to return!

  2. Was the thrill all worth it?
I keep wondering, plus all that beauty you’re surrounded with, are the reasons I think zip lining would still be on my
    “to-do list ” …Spectacular shot!

    1. Yes the thrill was worth it. For me the fear wasn’t in falling, it was in stopping before I crashed into the giant tree that the giant cable is tied to! They start you out on a low (twenty feet) and short run, and as the trek goes on the runs get longer and WAY higher. The beauty of Costa Rica is unmatched in my experience. I tell everyone that the rain forest (as opposed to the cloud forest) is like the movie Avatar.

    1. I have so many photographs from that trip — Costa Rica magical in its beauty. As you say, though, beauty is everywhere. We’re surrounded by it if only we look.
